Our Commitment to Action
Positive Organizational Scholarship + Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (JEDI+B)
The Center for Positive Organizations, housed at the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business, seeks to build a better world through the science and practice of thriving organizations through the academic field of Positive Organizational Scholarship (POS).
We believe an organizational system cannot thrive if it does not embrace differences and foster belonging. We believe the people within an organization cannot thrive if injustice and bias are built into the system at any level.
We recognize that our personal and communal integrity and commitment to Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (JEDI+B) matter. In alignment with the University of Michigan’s commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, we recognize the inherent value, worth, and dignity of all people and believe that an organization can thrive when people are respected and supported with humanity.
We aspire to stretch beyond acknowledging and overcoming differences to create a system in which we all work toward a common goal with mutual respect, empathy, and compassion.
As we invite people to join in our work and community, we are deeply grateful to our community of colleagues, scholars, students, alumni, and organizational leaders who continue to lead by example in creating thriving, diverse, and inclusive organizations.
