The Role of the Organization in Eliminating Barriers to Employment: Implications for Employees’ Work and Life

Talk description:
This Incubator presentation describes a case study of a manufacturing organization that has developed innovative policies to hire and retain individuals facing barriers to employment. The preliminary findings of this qualitative study are discussed. This research is at an early stage of development, so I greatly look forward to your feedback and ideas!

Alaina Segura is a doctoral student in the Management and Organizations Department at the Ross School of Business. Her research explores how organizations may be implicated in both the social inclusion and exclusion of individuals that tend to be on the margins of society.

Research is the heart of Positive Organizational Scholarship (POS), and we want to make sure that we support each other in developing high quality research. To that end, we created the Adderley Positive Research Incubator for sharing and encouraging POS-related research ideas that are at various stages of development.
