Positive Organizations Consortium

The Positive Organizations Consortium is a vibrant, leader-to-leader learning and networking community designed to create highly effective workplaces where people thrive. Established in 2014 at the Center for Positive Organizations, our members empower people and teams to reach their full potential through the science of Positive Organizational Scholarship (POS).

We bring together leaders with world-class researchers who share a common vision that a thriving organization starts with thriving people. Leaders learn new skills and practices to transform their organizations through sustainable, positive change to cultivate purpose, compassion, resiliency, and high-performing teams.

We learn and grow together. We foster long-term personal connections. And we provide customized support and resources along the way.

About the Forum

In this year’s fully-interactive experience, Julien Mirivel, University of Arkansas and Alex Lyon, SUNY Brockport, will lead a practical model of positive communication you can apply immediately to inspire unity and influence change in your organization. Julien and Alex will draw on research in the fields of communication and leadership, as well as their combined experience consulting and training leaders in communication skills for decades. They will offer concrete practices and strategies to do what feels impossible: to lead effectively, bring unity to your team, and inspire positive change.

Each session will take you through core skills that will expand your approach to personal and professional communication. With practical examples, stories from practitioners, and hands-on exercises, you will learn to apply each skill one-on-one, in group contexts, and across your organization.

After attending the full-day Member Forum, you will be able to lead difficult conversations and manage relationships effectively. You will also develop a communication plan to improve your leadership approach moving forward.
