To commemorate the 15th anniversary of the President’s Advisory Committee on Labor Standards and Human Rights (PACLSHR), we plan to host a symposium at the Michigan Ross School of Business, Ann Arbor on Oct 10, 2014 with a theme of role of universities in facilitating social responsibility in global supply chains. The symposium will cover the challenges of ensuring social responsibility in the globally dispersed supply chains of today, historical approaches universities have taken, current industry best practices and challenges and brainstorm what ought to be the role of a university and how could they fulfill that role more effectively. The audience for the conference will include faculty/students/licensees/and members of labor standard committees from other schools.
The event is co-sponsored by the Ross School of Business, the Law School, the School of Public Health, the Ford School of Public Policy, the Erb Institute, and the Human Rights Initiative at the University of Michigan.
