Title:
Moral benefit: The potential positive outcomes of organisational and individual ethics

Talk description:
This incubator presentation will describe two studies which link increased ethical clarity with enhanced meaning and wellbeing. This work brings together moral psychology and positive psychology to propose ethical clarity as an alternative path to wellbeing. Tarli will also discuss how such considerations may be applied to the work context and outline the proposed concept of moral benefit – the positive outcomes for organizations and workers that come from working in line with ethics.

Biography:
Tarli Young is in her last year of a PhD in Psychology at The University of Queensland where she also lectures in Positive Psychology. She previously completed Masters of Positive Psychology at University of East London. Tarli currently has three main research streams:

  1. Wellbeing within meaningful careers
  2. Ethics and wellbeing
  3. Mindfulness and positive psychology interventions

Each of these fit within her overall aim of about improving peoples’ wellbeing in the workplace.


Research is the heart of Positive Organizational Scholarship (POS), and we want to make sure that we support each other in developing high quality research. To that end, we created the Adderley Positive Research Incubator for sharing and encouraging POS-related research ideas that are at various stages of development.
