Hitomi Katsumi

Hitomi Katsumi brings an extensive background in event planning, program design, and communications in her role managing the Positive Organizations Consortium and building partnerships with organizations around culture change. She returns to CPO after previously supporting the Consortium and CPO events. In between her CPO roles, she held various leadership positions in the fields of Positive Psychology and Positive Organizational Scholarship such as the Events, Partnership, & Communications Lead for the International Positive Psychology Association’s Positive Health and Wellness Division and as the board member for Japan Positive Psychology Association. Most recently, she was the senior events coordinator at the University of Michigan’s Center for Research on Learning and Teaching.

Hitomi also joins CPO with a strong passion for research translation and application, particularly around diversity, equity, and inclusion, currently serving on several DEI working committees across campus. She can be found reading research articles or listening to podcasts in her free time and she also enjoys performing in music ensembles and currently plays flute and piccolo in the U-M Life Sciences Orchestra.
