Welcome to Our Co-Learning Consortium
Join our vibrant community of learners, leaders, and organizational changemakers dedicated to dynamic, boundary-breaking co-learning. Our consortium brings together diverse perspectives from across industries, sectors, disciplines, and generations to understand and advance the best science and practice to design and sustain effective, resilient, thriving organizations.
Our Co-Learning Community
Our co-learning community includes industry leaders, scholars, community changemakers, and students at all levels. We welcome anyone interested in contributing to an active ecosystem of knowledge and practice dedicated to elevating people and organizations in the face of the world’s most pressing needs. We are dedicated to community building and co-learning that deliberately, energetically, and powerfully transcends generational divides, brings disciplinary knowledge into conversation with real work demands, and advances the collective capacity of our members and their organizations to create forms of excellence that unlock greater passion, energy, connection, and purpose that spread far beyond our doors.
“The Consortium provides me with evidence-based and practical approaches that significantly increase thriving at work. All of the material and the programming is uniformly excellent, and I have adopted something from every program I have participated in to add to my internal consulting repertoire. I also am grateful for all the wonderful and inspiring members of the Consortium who lend their wisdom and experience in such an open and accepting way. I always leave the meetings inspired and informed, and it is sometimes even hard to sleep that evening because my mind has been so enriched! Thank you!!!” -Denise Williams, Michigan Medicine
What is Co-Learning?
Co-learning brings together people from different backgrounds to tackle the most pressing issues of our time with guidance from experts in Positive Organizational Scholarship. This approach focuses on building individual and organizational strength, well-being, and capabilities.
Together, we turn research into action, ask new questions, and implement practices that fuel thriving organizations. We aim to bridge the gap between scholars and practitioners by learning and experimenting together. Co-learning goes beyond just sharing expert knowledge; it relies on shared experiences and open dialogue among a diverse group of people. We help members deepen their understanding of what makes organizations thrive, try out new skills, conduct structured experiments, and gain insights from our collective experiences.
Why Now?
We live in a time of global conflict, uncertainty, and social divides. The COVID pandemic has highlighted the urgent need for holistic health and well-being in the workforce. To thrive, organizations must balance performance with human-centric growth, innovation, and compassion. Our consortium is dedicated to redefining what it means to thrive within organizations and society.
Who We Are
The Center for Positive Organizations is a leading global home for research on designing and sustaining thriving organizations. With over 20 years of impact, we have cultivated deep relationships with a global community of over 800 scholars who are at the forefront of knowledge and ideas that help design and sustain organizations that thrive.
We turn research into action. By blending academic insights with practical application, we empower our members to experiment, innovate, and implement effective strategies. Our hands-on learning experiences build deeper knowledge, new skills, and actionable insights tailored to real-world challenges.
Powered by Positive Organizational Scholarship
The Consortium is powered by the science of Positive Organizational Scholarship, an interdisciplinary field of inquiry that has been nurtured at the University of Michigan. We are proud to be one of the world’s leading global homes for the science and practice of designing and sustaining thriving organizations, making our Consortium the distinctive place for developing the knowledge, skills, and experience to lead organizations that create excellence while they sustain extraordinary holistic human well-being.
