CPO’s Job Crafting Exercise highlighted in Harvard Business Review

June 22, 2016

Research by Jane Dutton, Justin Berg, and Amy Wrzesniewski was cited in a Harvard Business Review article about overcoming obstacles in work environments.

In “How to Succeed at Work When Your Boss Doesn’t Respect You,” the author writes that employees have a strong desire to feel respected by their colleagues and organizational leaders. She offers five ways employees can focus on a sense of thriving, as a way to offset their feelings of disrespect. One of these methods is to find purpose in one’s work through Dutton, Berg, and Wrzesniewski’s Job Crafting Exercise.

Developed by researchers at the Center for Positive Organizations, the Job Crafting Exercise is an interactive tool that helps people recalibrate their jobs to better suit their values, strengths, and passions, and ultimately make it more fulfilling.
