David Mayer “leading by example” in Fast Company
January 20, 2016
In David Mayer‘s latest Fast Company ethics column, “Why Leading by Example is not Always Enough,” he explains there’s more to building a culture of ethics than acting morally.
Mayer explores the difference between leading ethically versus being ethical, and how to be a moral manager. He writes, “It’s true that being a moral person is critical to good leadership, but it’s also important to be a moral manager. Leading by example, and example alone, is almost never enough.”
Mayer is an associate professor of management and organizations and a member of the Center for Positive Organizations core faculty team.
