David Mayer quoted in Washington Post article about CEOs who stuck by President Trump

David Mayer was quoted in a Washington Post article, “These CEOs stuck by Trump as others defected then he dumped them” about the resignations and dismantling of the President’s Manufacturing Council  and Strategy and Policy Forum after Trump’s failure to speak out quickly against white supremacy following the violence in Charlottesville in August.

According to Mayer, business leaders are powerful change agents. Their reputation is connected to the “extracurriculars” and that anyone choosing to work with the president need to be prepared for public pressure. Mayer said it was unclear if those business leaders who did not speak out against Trump’s inaction would face negative fallout.

Mayer is a core faculty member at the Center for Positive Organizations, and his research focuses on how organizations can create environments that promote ethical behavior.
