August 24, 2016

Gretchen Spreitzer was quoted in an article on Bloomberg.com, which investigated the rise of coworking spaces as a means of boosting well-being at work. The article examined different executions of shared work spaces in the New York City area. Many infuse the culture and inhabitants of surrounding neighborhoods through yoga, gardens, and open seating areas in which to work. In addition to its ability to build community, the article underscored the ability of coworking to transcend boundaries between industries and its ability to help individuals develop an “authentic self” at work.

Gretchen Spreitzer is the Faculty Director for the Center for Positive Organizations, a professor of management and organizations, and the Keith E. and Valerie J. Alessi Professor of Business Administration. Her research bears emphasis on coworking and thriving in the workplace.
