Jane Dutton quoted in Washington Post article about compassion during mass shootings

Jane Dutton, one of CPO’s co-founders, was quoted in an article in the Washington Post in response to President Obama’s address to the nation regarding the massive shootings that occurred in early December.

“So much compassion shuts down because we feel we cannot make a difference or don’t have the means to help,” she told the Washington Post, and went on to continue to explain that “people likely do show more compassion on a micro-level after such terrible news events…they may find themselves in the aftermath being more compassionate to the people in their own lives.”
