Andrew J. Hoffman wrote an article for the Stanford Social Innovation Review (SSIR) titled, “Management as a Calling.” Throughout the article, Hoffman deliberates the idea of business being a “true calling rather than simply a career.” He calls on business schools to “reform their vision to promote values of business serving society” by adjusting management education curriculums moving forward in the 21st century.
Andrew J. Hoffman, faculty associate of the Center for Positive Organizations, is the Holcim (U.S.) Professor of Sustainable Enterprise, Professor of Management and Organizations, and Professor of Environment and Sustainability at the University of Michigan.
