Michelle Segar on the science of exercise in Fast Company

In the Fast Company article, “The Scientific Secret to Staying In Shape: Fall In Love With Exercising,” CPO Faculty Associate Michelle Segar talks about the motivation behind exercise. She explains her research which supports that people stick to goals longer when they are focused on immediate rewards such as feeling better or more energy rather than focusing on less tangible outcomes. “Human beings, it turns out, are hardwired to choose immediate gratification over long-term benefits,” she tells Fast Company.
