Alaina Segura is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Center for Public Leadership. In collaboration with Marshall Ganz and Liz McKenna, she studies democratic processes within civil associations, such as community-based organizations, labor unions, and political advocacy groups. Primarily using qualitative methods, her work places a particular focus on organizational members’ experiences of dignity, solidarity, and hope.

Prior to joining the Kennedy School, she received her PhD from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and her BA with high honors from the University of Virginia.
