Jordan Nye (she/her) is a doctoral student at the University of Michigan Stephen M. Ross School of Business in the Management & Organizations department. Jordan studies how people think about the role of work in their lives and society and how this informs paid employment decisions. She is particularly interested in humanistic outcomes such as well-being and dignity. Currently, Jordan is exploring these questions in the context of alternative work arrangements (independent and contract-based work). Her research contributes to our understanding of contemporary careers. Jordan uses both qualitative and quantitative methods in her research, including semi-structured interviews, field surveys and intervention studies. Prior to her doctoral studies, Jordan worked in corporate marketing and strategy and taught high school business education and economics courses. She received her BBA with high distinction from Michigan Ross.
