Theme:
Positive Organizational Scholarship: Renewing the Adventure
Please join us for a special, celebratory AOM breakfast this year, hosted by the staff and faculty of the Center for Positive Organizations at the University of Michigan. We’ll gather as a community and applaud the heroes of the adventure that has been Positive Organizational Scholarship as well as take stock of the progress of studying positive organizing over the past 20 years. We also look forward to renewing the adventure for the next twenty! We invite you to engage with us and with one another in a unique, interactive, treasure mapping conversation, as we explore questions that will help illuminate new adventures in POS.
Members of our community will offer short provocations dedicated to how Positive Organizational Scholarship has and has not served as a harbor for new forms of inquiry. We will hear from scholars who have found POS to be a port in the storm. We will talk about times when both research and researchers need this form of inquiry as a way to navigate rough waters or unknown seas. And we will ask how POS might be a beacon of inspiration to people across domains, disciplines, generations, and industries in an uncertain, complex future. Amid such widespread human suffering in organizations, can we build a base camp from which we might launch new adventures that help people and organizations thrive? Ask and answer questions like these as you catch up with old friends and meet new colleagues who may feature in the adventures yet to come.
