Topic:
Challenging racial subordination in the workplace: Counter-racialization among Black and Asian employees
Talk description:
This paper explores when and how employees of color use different strategies to contest racial subordination in the workplace. Specifically, based on interviews with 54 Black and Asian employees in a Silicon Valley technology company, we examine how the (re)construction of their individual and collective racial identities shapes the politicization of these identities in the workplace and how they chose to contest racial hierarchy and inequality.
Research is the heart of Positive Organizational Scholarship (POS), and we want to make sure that we support each other in developing high quality research. To that end, we created the Adderley Positive Research Incubator for sharing and encouraging POS-related research ideas that are at various stages of development.
