Two recent Michigan Ross graduates – including our own Ariana Almas – are capping off the end of their Ross journey with a well-deserved honor: making a list of the Best MBAs of 2018.

Ariana Almas and Kristen Steagall, both graduates of the Class of 2018, made the list on Poets&Quants for their impressive leadership and achievements during their MBA studies at Ross.

Ariana Almas

Before attending Michigan Ross, Almas earned a degree from Dartmouth in sociology and worked in the nonprofit sector. While at Ross, she undoubtedly had an impact: She was the first-ever VP of diversity, equity, and inclusion on the Ross MBA Council and she helped create and teach the inaugural course on Power and Identity Dynamics in Business.

Upon graduation, she was awarded the Frank S. Moran Leadership Award for her outstanding contributions to the business school experience for students, faculty, and staff.

Almas took on many more roles and challenges during the past two years. She served as a +LAB Fellow in the Center for Positive Organizations, co-president of the Service Corps Alumni Association, and was a lead organizer for MLK Day celebrations at Ross. She was also part of the first-place-winning team at the University of Michigan Poverty Solutions Case Competition.

Almas is taking on a human resources role at Microsoft in Washington state. She plans to launch a side hustle soon, and she also aspires to return to a social impact career.
