Brianna Barker Caza examines workplace conflict in Harvard Business Review

February 14, 2020

Brianna Barker Caza and fellow researchers offer strategies to help managers and employees rebound from conflict in the Harvard Business Review article, “How to Mend a Work Relationship.”

Strong relationships with peers can be a source of energy, learning, and support. But, even small conflicts, left unresolved, can damage individuals and organizations, according to the article.

Center for Positive Organizations (CPO) Research Advisory Board member Caza Barker, CPO Community of Scholars member Timothy Vogus, and Mara Olekains recommend three practices to help relationships bounce back. Creating a positive tone, crafting shared narratives and developing relational agility “can help you to make your work relationships more resilient in the face of conflict and everyday tensions,” the researchers say.
