Gretchen Spreitzer to receive Academy of Management Distinguished Scholar Award

For her contributions to the Academy of Management, Gretchen Spreitzer will be honored with a divisional 2018 Distinguished Scholar Award later this summer. The award will be presented by the Organizational Development and Change (ODC) Division of the Academy of Management. AOM, as it is commonly called, is the preeminent professional association for management and organization scholars. It was founded in 1936 and has nearly 20,000 members in more than 120 countries.

Spreitzer’s research focuses on employee empowerment and leadership development, particularly within a context of organizational change and decline. She is the Keith E. and Valerie J. Alessi Professor of Business Administration, professor of management and organizations, and faculty director of the Center for Positive Organizations.

The 2018 Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management will take place in Chicago in August. The Center for Positive Organizations hosts and annual breakfast for Positive Organizational Scholarship researchers, this year on Sunday, August 12, 2018.
