How to succeed at work as a cultural minority, new research by Laura Morgan Roberts

October 10, 2019

Laura Morgan Roberts co-authored a Harvard Business Review article title, “The Benefits of Bringing Your Whole Identity to Work.” The article explores four strategies – and their associated risks – for cultural-minority professionals to succeed at work by leveraging their differences. The article compliments a paper published in Organizational Science in June, “Leveraging Minority Identities at Work: An Individual-Level Framework of the Identity Mobilization Process.”

Roberts is a Faculty Affiliate of the Center for Positive Organizations and a Professor of Practice at the University of Virginia. Her latest book, Race, Work and Leadership: New Perspectives on the Black Experience, was recently published by the Harvard Business Review Press.
