Julia Lee interviewed on Michigan Radio about crying at work
March 27, 2017
Julia Lee was interviewed by Michigan Radio’s Cynthia Canty for a Stateside segment titled, “Crying at work can be mortifying. Here’s how to spin it.”
Lee, a Center for Positive Organizations Postdoctoral Fellow, explains how to reframe emotional moments to manage the effects of crying in the workplace. Lee told Canty that she “values authenticity more than managing impressions and hopes work places become more compassionate and much more accepting of expressions of true emotion.”
Lee’s research focuses on the motivation of employees to reach their full potential, largely by promoting productive, healthy, and honest behavior in organizations. She will join the Michigan Ross faculty (in Management and Organizations) in summer 2017.
