Our New Faculty Co-Director, David Mayer

Next month, Associate Professor David Mayer will begin his tenure as Faculty Co-Director, serving alongside Professor Robert Quinn, and replacing Gretchen Spreitzer, who is stepping down as she begins her Sabbatical.  Professor Mayer joined the Center for Positive Organizations in 2010, a year after he came to the Michigan Ross School of Business.  His research focus on how organizations can create environments that promote ethical behavior and discourage wrongdoing is an important contribution to the the field of POS; his chapter in the The Oxford Handbook of Positive Organizational Scholarship(2012) describes a positive lens on organizational justice.  Among his other activities, Professor Mayer is active in the International Society of Justice, which is bestowing its 2014 Early Career Contribution Award on him this month, in recognition of his exceptional record of publications.  Dave is also an incoming associate editor of theAcademy of Management Journal and co-organizer of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology’s preconference on justice and morality.
