Research by Julia Lee about ‘crying at work’ featured in Forbes
February 9, 2017
“The right way to cry in front of your boss” – a Forbes contributed article – features research by Julia Lee (with Alison Wood Brooks, Sunita Sah, and Elizabeth Baily Wolf) published in the November 2016 issue of Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Process.
Their research findings are based on five experiments that explore the perceptions of managing distress at work, either through an emotional (thought to be less socially acceptable) or passionate expression (more socially acceptable).
Lee is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Positive Organizations and will join the Michigan Ross faculty (in Management & Organizations) in summer 2017. She will also present at the next Positive Links Speaker Series on February 20, 2017.
