A Cornell Chronicle article titled, “Showing distress at work? To recover, reframe it as passion,” cites research by Julia Lee and others that explores ways to positively overcome upsetting situations. The article references one study in particular, “Managing perceptions of distress at work: Reframing emotion as passion,” which Lee conducted in collaboration with Sunita Sah and Alison Wood Brooks, both of the Harvard Business School.

Julia Lee is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Positive Organizations. Her research focuses on the motivation of employees to reach their full potential, largely by promoting productive, healthy, and honest behavior in organizations.
