Doug Lepisto launches business leadership podcast
July 1, 2020
The WWMT article “WMU hosts podcast on business leadership challenges during COVID-19 pandemic” profiles The Jungle podcast, which was launched by Center for Positive Organizations (CPO) faculty affiliate Doug Lepisto this spring.
The podcast offers, “an up-close, unvarnished view into the emotions, practices and lived experiences of leading and strategy-making in an uncertain world,” its website says. Its first season focuses on the business challenges and opportunities the COVID-19 pandemic presents. Guests include Western Michigan University President Edward Montgomery, U.S. Rep. Fred Upton, former Lt. Gov. Brain Calley and CEOs from multiple industries.
“A podcast had always been a part of our plan, but we weren’t sure when to launch it and when the crises hit, we realized it was the perfect opportunity to bring this out to the world,” Lepisto says.
He co-hosts The Jungle with Derrick McIver. The researchers are co-directors of the Center for Principled Leadership and Business Strategy in the Haworth College of Business at Western Michigan University.
“(The podcast is) something that’s entertaining, but also educating at the same time,” Lepisto says.
Lepisto is assistant professor of management in the Haworth College of Business at Western Michigan University.
