Abstract:
This short essay illustrates how we can create organizations where people flourish and exceed expectations. To do so, it is important to build faith and hope that such change is possible, in part by providing a space where people can clarify their own purposes, be authentic, and connect openly with self and others. Processes that cultivate purpose and build trust through authentic conversations allow people to engage in deep learning with each other and make creative, new decisions in real time. Through stories, the essay relates how such practices can help turn abusive organizations into positive ones.
