Abstract:

In this article we consider the cleanup and closure of the Rocky Flats Nuclear Arsenal, the largest nuclear cleanup in world history and first decommissioning of a nuclear weapons facility in the United States. Our intent is to glean the insights provided from an exemplary case of positive organizational practices and the remarkable achievements that accrued from their application. Our aim is also to demonstrate that positive organizing can occur and yield results even in the most difficult and inhospitable circumstances.
